Congratulations to all the members of Enniskillen Lakelanders Swim Club who travelled to Limavady last Saturday 13th to take part in the Roe Valley Junior Triathlon and Aquathon.
Many adult clubs exist for traithlon and aquathon but the junior end of this gruelling sport is on the rise throughout Ireland and the UK.
Aquathon requires participants to swim and run whilst triathlon involves swimming, cycling and running.
The event was not timed and was billed more as a fun event, but the Lakelanders' dedication in their swim training was evident with many of them winning or achieving high placings across all age groups and heats.
Above all, the kids all enjoyed their introduction to this most demanding of athletic sports, and for parents who'd made the long trip, the sunshine along with the performances made it a great day out.
